George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt y Spencer Octavia fueron algunos de los artistas que reciben nominaciones a los Oscar, mientras que "El Artista", "The Descendants" y "Moneyball", están nominadas como mejor película en la 84ª entrega de Premios de la Academia que fue anunciado hoy martes por la mañana en Beverly Hills.

Con la presentación de candidaturas, "El Artista" fue catapultado a la condición de favorito a pesar de que el cine mudo y negro-blanco sobre la transición de Hollywood para "talkies" no ha sido vista. (Sólo ha hecho un poco más de $ 12,1 millones en la taquilla.) Pero se trata de robar la mayor parte de los premios de la crítica, así como un Globo de Oro a la mejor película.
